Artist Statement

Fawn's ceramic work centers around wheel thrown vessels using the sgraffito technique to embellish the surfaces. They work with high contrast pattering drawn free hand on to the vessel.

Credentials

Fawn Penn is a ceramic artist and organizer working in Chicago. Fawn co-founded The Digs Chicago, a non-profit community ceramics studio in West Town. In 2023, Fawn made the Forbes 30 Under 30 Local list and in 2024 founded Old Friends, a contemporary art gallery in Roscoe Village.
